Bicyclist Dies After Being Trapped Beneath Car

BETHEL, Conn. (AP) _ A business writer and avid bicyclist who was trapped under a car in an accident in Bethel on Sunday has died.

The wife of Thomas Steinert-Threlkeld, of Weston, wrote in a Facebook posting on Monday that he died on Sunday. Kayte Steinert-Threlkeld said it was apparently a hit-and-run accident.

Bethel police said Sunday that two vehicles were believed to have been involved.  Steinert-Threlkeld was trapped beneath one of the vehicles. Police say it’s not clear if he was hit by a car or lost control of his bicycle.

Police say the second vehicle left the scene.
The 59-year-old Steinert-Threlkeld was editorial director at B2B Publishing and editor-in-chief of Edge of the Road, a website for cyclists. He previously was a tech columnist at The Dallas Morning News
