Kay Throws 4 TDs, Cincinnati Beats UConn 41-16

CINCINNATI (AP) Brendon Kay followed one of his best games with an even better one, throwing for four touchdowns and running for another on Saturday as Cincinnati pulled away to a 41-16 victory over winless Connecticut.
The sixth-year senior was the American Athletic Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week for a three-touchdown performance in a win over Temple. He had a hand in four first-half touchdowns on Saturday, helping the Bearcats (5-2, 2-1) take control on a rainy afternoon.
Kay tied his career high with the four touchdown passes, each to a different receiver, and was 17 of 24 for 300 yards.
UConn (0-6, 0-2) had a tough time overall in what amounted to a homecoming for interim head coach T.J. Weist, who took over after Paul Pasqualoni was fired after four games. Weist was an assistant at Cincinnati the last three seasons under Butch Jones, who left for Tennessee.
