Waterbury police have brought the hammer down on a city drug operation.

After being tipped off by residents in the Angel Drive area of the city, officers from the Street Crimes and Vice and Intelligence Divisions recently undertook a six week detail where undercover officers purchased cocaine and heroin from 10 people.

The 10 were finally rounded up during a sweep yesterday and last night.

Among the evidence seized was over 1,400 bags of heroin, over 400 grams of crack cocaine, 190 grams of power cocaine and 184 grams of raw heroin.

The main suspects in the case are Isaiah Wells and James Gannon, both 25;  30-year-old Marisol Reyes, and 44-year-old Marcel Pierre.
