Two Dead In Route 6 Crash

Monday’s crash on Route 6 in Farmington has resulted in the deaths of a woman who was 8 months pregnant  and an 86 year old woman.

Farmington police say 27-year-old Melinda Hart of Bristol was behind the wheel of a minivan that collided with a sedan at Hyde road.  Her unborn fetus did not survive the accident.   And her eight-year-old son was seriously injured in the crash.    A four-year-old and a six-year-old in the minivan were injured,  but have since been released from the hospital .

A passenger in the sedan, Ruth Carroll of Bristol was also killed. Her husband, 85-year-old Robert Carroll  who was driving, suffered serious injuries. The accident closed Route 6 for about four and a half hours Monday afternoon.

Farmington police are asking anyone who witnessed the accident to call them at (860) 675-2400.
