Arrests Made In Hartford Kidnapping

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Two men have been arrested on kidnapping charges.

WFSB-TV reports ( ) that police responded to a report Monday night of a person abducted at gunpoint and a ransom demand phoned into the family.

Based on a description of the suspects and their car, Hartford police arrested 22-year-old Rubin Baez of Hartford and 18-year-old Rahda Charles of Manchester.

Baez and Charles were charged with kidnapping with a firearm and first-degree robbery.

Charles also was charged with possession of a pistol without a permit and altering or removing identification markings from a firearm.

It was not known Tuesday morning if the two men are represented by a lawyer.

No other details were immediately available.
