A man wanted by Wolcott police for stealing a safe from a local small business that contained $30,000 in cash and collectible coins has been arrested.

Police initially spotted a vehicle driven by Daniel Deleo, 26, of Terryville, in Wolcott, but that chase led them onto I-84E near exit 39A in Farmington, when State Police became involved.

State Police were eventually able to apprehend Deleo on I-291W near exit 5 after he rammed state police cruisers multiple times.

He was processed by state police and later released to Wolcott Police for a felony warrant.

He’s charged with a number of offenses by state police including reckless driving, weapons in vehicles and attempt to commit crime.

He will be charged separately by Wolcott Police. His state police bond was set at $75,000 and his court date set for Nov. 1.
