The law of unintended consequences applies to this messy “partial government shutdown”. At this point in the debate the American people are frustrated I dare say disgusted at the name calling, finger pointing and lack of action of the Congress and even the President. People are confused and disappointed in this political gamesmanship, and here’s the worst part no one is discussing the debt ceiling, the trillions of dollars of debt on our children, overspending in Washington, and how about jobs! The debate has been reduced to which monuments will be open and which ones will be closed. What a shame as the economy continues to sputter along and no one , not even Republicans are talking about reducing spending and taxes. Here’s the good news Oct. 17th will come and go the government will be “reopened” and nothing, absolutely nothing will be different. You decide whether that is good news or bad news. Bottom line let’s put our trust in ourselves and in the next generation, forget government solutions, let’s start reaching out neighbor to neighbor, this government solve all our problems thing is not working, it’s really broken.
