Police Dog Helps Subdue Man With Ax

It took a police canine in Danbury to help subdue an ax-wielding man on Wednesday.

Police say 24-year-old Anthony Ramirez failed to comply with officers when they arrived at the Hillside Street home a little after 10 p.m.

That’s when police dog Zeke was released from his handlers and Ramirez dropped the weapon.

Police say the whole thing started over an argument over money between Ramirez and the victims.

When Ramirez was initially asked to leave, he did so, later returning with the ax he allegedly stole from a neighbor.

He faces charges of reckless endangerment, larceny, criminal mischief and breach of peace.

Bond was set at $50,000.
