Confused Burglary Report Uncovers Explosives, Guns, Ammo

Local, state, and federal officials today removed explosive materials, devices, dozens of guns, and large amounts of ammunition from a house on Bronson Road in Fairfield.

Fairfield Police Sergeant Suzanne Lussier says the homeowner called police to the home, thinking he had been burglarized.

Police say he may have been confused when he called police.  No indication of a burglary was found.

“According to the homeowner, he had a hobby, he often used some of the explosive devices to launch rockets.  We believe most of it was used for that purpose,” Lussier said.

The homeowner used to work for Remington firearms in Bridgeport.
