Police: More Than 100 Teens At Glastonbury House Party With Alcohol
A Glastonbury couple faces charges of allowing minors to possess alcohol after a birthday party at their home attracted teenagers beyond the original guest list.
More than one hundred 15-to-17-year-olds were on hand, and some had beer, liquor and drug paraphernalia. Police say Christopher and Shawn Nixon are not charged with serving the alcohol, but with allowing minors to possess it.
Police found one youngster was throwing up when they arrived, and it took more than two hours to call more than 85 parents to come and pick up their children.
Glastonbury Police have an “underage party patrol” to try to control such events, and received a tip before the party Friday. As it got underway, neighbors began calling, because of the large numbers of hyoung people streaming into the area around Hanover Fields Road.
