Motorcyclist Dies In Route 9 Accident

Police in Middletown say a motorcyclist was killed in an early morning accident on Route 9 this morning.

Just after six o’clock, police say 56-year-old Mark Lemanski was riding his bike southbound on Route 9 at exit 16.

Lemanski collided with a Toyota Prius stopped for traffic, according to investigators.

The car was operated by 55-year-old Frank Mohr of Meriden.

Lemanski was rushed to Middlesex Hospital and later pronounced dead.

Mohr and his passenger were not injured.

Route 9 and Hartford Avenue were closed during the investigation but have since reopened.
