Alleged Kidnap Victim Climbs Through Fast Food Drive-Through Window

NORWICH, Conn. (AP) _ State Police say an East Haddam woman escaped from an accused kidnapper by climbing through a fast food drive-through window.

The Bulletin reports (http://bit.ly/GzzQyX ) that police say the unidentified woman reported being kidnapped from her home on Friday by an acquaintance, Davendra Persaud, of Lynbrook, N.Y.

Police say Persaud drove to a nearby Burger King and while waiting in the drive-through line, the woman left his vehicle and ran to another vehicle.

She climbed into the drive-through window to escape.

Police also say the 30-year-old Persaud chased the other vehicle and brandished a handgun at two occupants.

Persaud is charged with kidnapping and other charges and is held on a $500,000 bond.

It was not known Tuesday morning if he’s represented by a lawyer.
