Weist Named Interim Huskies Coach

Offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach T. J. Weist has been named interim head coach of the UConn Huskies,  following today’s firing of head football coach Paul Pasqualoni.

Weist came to UConn this year from the University of Cincinnati, where he had been wide receivers coach.  He was Bearcats recruiting coordinator in 2011,  and during his time with the team, Cincinnati won two Big East Championships.

He joined he Bearcats after spending eight years at Western Kentucky,  including as offensive coordinator and assistant head coach.  Prior to that he was wide receivers coach at Indiana,  and had been a member of the staffs at Tulsa, Southern Illinois,  Michigan and Alabama.

Weist himself played wide receiver at Alabama from 1985 to 1987.
