Former NFL Player And ESPN Analyst Facing Charges

A former NFL star defensive lineman and ESPN analyst is facing charges following an alleged incident last weekend in Hartford.

Police say they were called to the Hartford Marriott Downtown in the wee hours of Sunday.

They say a clerk noticed red marks on a woman’s neck that 42-year-old Hugh Douglas said was the result of “rough sex” earlier that evening.

In addition to the marks, the woman also had a bump on her head.  She was taken to Hartford Hospital for treatment.

A subsequent interview with the woman found that she and Douglas were involved in an altercation that became physical.

The six-foot-one inch, 285 pound Douglas was charged with assault and strangulation offenses.

Douglas spent time with teh New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars.

He was recently fired from his ESPN role after a confrontation with a co-host this past summer.
