STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Commuters are getting a chance to learn more about a development project planned for the Stamford train station. (See the DOT meeting notice)
The Department of Transportation is currently negotiating an agreement with Stamford Manhattan Development Venures or SMDV, the preferred developer for the $500 million project. It’s expected to involve a hotel and a combination of residential, retail and office space near the train tracks. (See more on the project plans)
John McClutchy, president of JHM Group and principal of SMDV, is scheduled to lead a public information meeting Tuesday evening about the development project. The meeting will be held at Stamford High School and will include a question-and-answer session.
McClutchy told The Advocate of Stamford that SMDV is seeking input “from all the constituent groups” about the project.
DOT Commissioner James Redeker is scheduled to attend the meeting.
