Ridgefield Man Charged After Amber Alert

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. (AP) _ A Ridgefield man is due in Danbury Superior Court on charges of violating a protection order after police say he took his son to New York after a domestic dispute.

Paul Lupo is scheduled in court on Tuesday, a day after he was charged with disorderly conduct, interfering with an emergency call and failure to have a child safety seat in his vehicle.

Police say the 49-year-Lupo fled with his 5-year-old son Sunday night, triggering a statewide Amber Alert.

Police canceled the alert within an hour when authorities found the boy with relatives in the Bronx in New York City.

It was not immediately known how Lupo was found. He was released after posting $5,000 bond.
