School Bus Driver Faces DUI Charge

Manchester police are charging a school bus driver wtih DUI after an accident on Tuesday.

Police arrested 36-year-old Melissa Forest of Andover.

They say the bus she was driving was carrying five Rockville High School agricultural students at the time of crash.

Initially, police say the bus was spotted on West Middle Turnpike by a witness who reported it being driven erratically.

They say the bus then rear-ended a wheelchair van on Main Street, not far from Bennet Academy.

No injuries were reported.

Police say they administered field sobriety tests on Forest, which she subsequently failed.

She’s now charged with driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol and following too close.

Forest is free on a $5,000 bond and is due in court September 30.
