RI Troopers Injured In Work Zone Accident

WARWICK, R.I. (AP) _ Two Rhode Island state troopers were hurt when a driver veered into a work zone and struck their cruisers.

WPRI-TV  reports that it happened shortly before 10 p.m. Monday.

The troopers were sitting in their cruisers at a construction site at the airport connector off Interstate 95 North. Police say a vehicle veered into the work zone and struck both vehicles.

The troopers and the driver were all taken to Rhode island Hospital, where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

WPRI did not identify the troopers or the driver.
