WETHERSFIELD, Conn. (AP) _ A new system for scheduling adult and teen learner’s permit tests is beginning at the Department of Motor Vehicles’ office in Wethersfield.
Starting on Tuesday, an appointment will be needed for such tests. The new system replaces walk-in service.
Customers can book appointments online at http://www.ct.gov/dmv or make an appointment at the Wethersfield office at 60 State Street. It’s part of an effort by the agency to integrate technology and help customers avoid waiting in long lines.
Besides Wethersfield, online appointments can also be made for the DMV’s Cheshire, Norwalk, and Bridgeport offices. More than 11,000 customers have used the system since May 2012.
Customers can schedule a learner’s permit knowledge test online for a specific day at one of the four test centers and pay the permit testing fee.
