New Haven BK Manager Shot

At 9:30 p.m. Sunday officers were dispatched to the Burger King restaurant at 1329 Whalley Ave. in the West Hills neighborhood. The caller informed Police that two armed men had robbed the restaurant and shot the 19-year-old female manager.

She was shot once, the bullet struck both of her legs. She was rushed, by ambulance to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment. As of 10:45 p.m., medical staff from the hospital had categorized her condition as critical, despite her being alert and able to speak.

A witness reported that two dark complexioned black men, wearing black ski masks and clad in all dark or black clothing, entered the restaurant. Both were armed with handguns. They confronted the manager and demanded cash. One of the robbers fired a single gunshot which
struck the victim.

There is no further description of the perpetrators or a suspect vehicle.

Police are investigating.
