So, how does it feel to wake up this morning and read the headlines that “200 State Bridges at Risk of Collapse” ; Waterbury Republican 9/16/13. The report goes on to say that 500 bridges are “structurally deficient” and state officials are exploring the possibility of implementing tolls to pay for them. I often say on the show that he most basic responsibility of government is to keep it’s citizens safe, and here we are in the year 2013, years after one of Connecticut’s bridges has fallen down, wondering how to pay for repairs? Yet, the Supremacy was able to find the money to build the magic bus ? So if you spend $560 million on a bus to nowhere, that will cost the taxpayers hundreds of millions more to subsidize and maintain….gee I wonder why we don’t have money for bridges that “are at risk of collapse”. The Republicans in the legislature at least tried to get the arrogant majority to put the $560 million into failing roads and bridges but the Supremacy muscled and threatened the Democrats to vote to keep the busway….interesting priorities, something to keep in mind. So Connecticut are you ready for tolls on our highways ? Tune in today, because you can’t make this stuff up !!
