Four People Arrested In Sharon Killing

LITCHFIELD, Conn. (AP) _ Four people arrested in connection with a fatal 2012 home invasion are to appear in Litchfield Superior Court.

Connecticut State Police arrested the four Wednesday in connection with the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Lucas Vitalis in Sharon on Aug. 6, 2012.

Police said two intruders shot Vitalis at the home of his mother, who was tied up, but wasn’t injured.

Police said three suspects are facing charges including felony murder, home invasion, kidnapping and robbery. They are 26-year-old Niraj Patel of Warren, 25-year-old Hiral Patel of Branford, and 27-year-old Michael Calabreses of Warren.

Twenty-seven-year-old Shyam Patel of Warren was arrested on charges of tampering with evidence and hindering prosecution.

State police said they are held on bond until their court appearances Thursday. It’s not immediately known if they have attorneys.
