Huskies Suspend Olander

The University of Connecticut says Tyler Olander,  a  forward on the basketball team,  has been suspended indefinitely.  The announcement from the school said only that it involved a violation of team rules,  and that the university would have no additional comment at this time, but State Police in Tolland say the 21-year-old senior  was arrested shortly before 11:00 p.m. Saturday after failing a field sobriety test on Route 195,  and for operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

Olander, who is from Mansfield and attended E.O. Smith High School,  has appeared in 102 games for the Huskies,  averaging 3.2 points and 3.0 rebounds per game.  He started 26 games last season, and appeared in  29,  before breaking his foot last March during a loss at USF.
