From 1985 to 1990 I served in the U.S. Congress , serving on the Armed Services Committee and the Intelligence Committee. During those years the United States attempted to navigate thru the civil wars of Central America , picking and supporting political leaders and never quite getting it right …and here we are today in the Middle East trying to do it all over again…lessons learned ? Y es,we can’t pick the leaders of other nations, and our interventions rarely have a positive result. In Syria if we were ever able to topple Assad what would be the result in leadership? One terrorist group for another ? Today we will discuss 10 bad outcomes from our military intervention ; but the question is , will we as American citizens tell our Congressman our opinions ? This is a unique opportunity to truly effect the outcome of a vote in the U.S. Congress , the Connecticut congressional delegation is truly undecided, will you call and voice your opinion to them ?
Correction ; earlier this week, responding to a Bristol Press news article I called out State Rep. Chris Wright [Bristol] for voting to reduce the school drug safety zone from 1,500 ft. to 300 ft., upon further research the actual vote was not taken, and there was some confusion on the issue, an apology is in order and Rep. Wright was willing to come on the show to discuss. I hope to have Rep. Wright on next week to talk the state political scene.
