A  search  which  forced three Manchester schools into lockdown Friday afternoon  ended with two men being apprehended  off Spencer Street.

Police were seeking   34 year old Michael McCarthy of  Manchester for a probation violation.30 year old Joseph Bombardier was not wanted for  criminal charges, but  officers wanted to check on his well-being.

The men were  seen  in a  wooded area off Love Lane  and police believed one may have been armed.

Verplanck  Elementary School along with Cheney Tech and East Catholic High School were locked down. Officials at Verplanck Elementary said  students were allowed to leave in a “controlled dismissal”.

No one was injured.
