Defense: Accused Nightclub Shooter Did Not Start Incident

A judge set bond at $1-million, when Angel Morales appeared in Hartford Superior Court today.

Two rows in the gallery were filled with relatives of shooting victim Miguel Delgado.  Some of them held their hands to their mouths in praying motions, or cried, as the defendant stood before the judge, surrounded by marshals.

Outside of court, two of Delgado’s aunts said if the Up Or On The Rocks club reopens, police officers should be inside.

Morales’ attorney reminded the judge that his client turned himself in to Hartford Police, and said that Morales will cooperate in the investigation.

Defense attorney John Williams said his client was not the one who initiated the incident.

Morales has previously faced domestic violence and weapons charges.
