Meat Department Knife Used In Stop & Shop Stabbing

Police say two employees at the Stop and Shop on Dixwell Avenue in Hamden got into an argument.

The argument turned into a fight.

Police say one of the men, Cedrick Gambrell got a knife from the meat department, and stabbed the other man in the leg and the rib cage.

The Hamden resident is charged with assault and bteach of peace.

The man who was stabbed, Barrington Beckford of New Haven, was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Beckford was charged with breach of peace.
