BUFFALO, N.Y. (CBS Connecticut) – A new trend has been making its way around the Internet as people are taking to Craigslist to sell positive pregnancy tests.
According to the Daily Dot, entrepreneurial people who identify themselves as pregnant women from Buffalo, N.Y. to central New Jersey and beyond are selling the positive tests for $25 each to those who want them.
“Wanna [sic] get your boyfriend to finally pop the question?” one post rhetorically asked. “Play a trick on Mom, Dad or one of your friends? I really don’t care what you use it for.”
The posts began to appear this past May, and have grown in frequency during the course of the summer. Demand has reportedly been big for those who are selling the tests.
“Ever since I became pregnant, I have been asked numerous times for a positive test,” another ad stated. “[S]o I decided to start charging for it!”
In Texas, the tests are being sold by enterprising parties for $30, the Daily Dot learned.
