HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Hartford police are investigating the second fatal shooting outside a downtown nightclub this month.
Police say a 21-year-old East Hartford man was killed at about 1 a.m. Friday at Church and High streets. It’s the city’s 17th homicide of the year. The man’s name hasn’t been released.
Police Lt. Brian Foley says the shooting apparently stemmed from an argument that began in the Up Or On The Rocks Club and continued in the street after the club closed. Foley says the victim was shot once in the chest.
It’s the same club where an argument inside led the shooting death of 19-year-old Brian Simpe of Manchester earlier this month. Police say Simpe also was killed outside after the club closed. A 23-year-old man has been charged in that killing.
