Cafe Opens In Hartford Library

People who use the Hartford Public Library can now stop in for a bite to eat while at the Main Street facility.

The “Kitchen Cafe” is a product of the Library and Billings Forge Community Works, a non-profit that offers job training and other similar services to city residents.

Some of the employees of the cafe are Billings Forge clients.

Executive Director Carrie Wheaton says the restaurant is a product of community participation.

A training kitchen is located on the library’s second floor and will offer cooking classes to patrons.

The restaurant is open eight a.m. to four p.m. Mondays through Friday.
