Longer Vanity Plates Go On Sale

How about “Huskies” or “Bulldog” or  “GoodGuy?”  The Department of Motor Vehicles is opening up a new range of vanity plate possibilities with the announcement that it will begin offering seven-character vanity plates.

Until now the maximum for Connecticut vanity plates has been a combination of six letters, numbers or special symbols.,  but changes in computer technology allow the agency to meet customer demand for vanity plates with an additional letter,  number or symbol.

Drivers can go to the DMV website to find out if their desired seven-character plate is available.

The plates cost an additional $94.
