It’s the first day of school for children in Hartford. To kick off the new year, school and city officials took a bus trip to newly renovated schools this morning.
Superintendent Christina Kishimoto says the tour is something of a tradition to set the tone for a successful year.
Officials toured Journalism and Media Magnet Academy on Tower Avenue, Global Communications Academy on Edwards Street, and M.D. Fox School on Maple Avenue.
Kishimoto says the goal is to get every child college ready from the time they enter pre-kindergarten until their senior years of high school.
