Waterbury Man Arrested In SC Hit-Run Death
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) _ A Connecticut man is in custody charged with a hit and run death in a weekend crash in Myrtle Beach.
Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard says that 48-year-old Michael Dickson of Little River was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash about 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
Later, police arrested 42-year-old Jomo Robert Foley of Waterbury, Conn. He was charged with hit and run and felony driving under the influence.
Authorities say Dickson was driving a taxi van when it was hit at an intersection by a Lincoln Navigator driven by Foley. Police charge that Foley ran away and say he was arrested later at a nearby motel.
It wasn’t clear if Foley had an attorney.
