Meriden Man Arrested on Drug Selling Charges

An  investigation by the Wallingford Police  Department’s Narcotics Unit and  the Merdien Police Department’s Crime Suppression unit has resulted in  the arrest of  23 year old Edwin Caldas of Meriden.

Police had received information that Caldas  was  part of a large group of people  selling a large amount of Ecstasy. Caldas was apprehended  in the Grove Street area of Meriden.

According to police  Caldas  was in possession of 1.7  grams of the drug and another 4.7  grams along with packaging materials , including a digital scale, cutting agents and small  plastic bags were found  In Caldas’ home.

Caldas was  charged with  Possession of a Hallucinogen with Intent to sell,Possession of a Hallucinogen and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Caldas  is due in Meriden Superior  Court for both  his Meriden And Wallingford arrests August 22.He also  had an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear and  has an August 20 date in Middletown Superior  Court in that warrant.
