Under an agreement approved by a judge Thursday  Hartford Mayor Pedro Segarra’s former chief of staff will pay more than $2,000 in restitution to resolve a criminal case.

Jared Kupiec was arrested after police noticed he still had a city vehicle — more than two weeks after he stopped working for the city.  Defense attorney Ross Garber says his client was still considered a city employee at the time.

Kupiec was granted accelerated rehabilitation on charges of using a motor vehicle without the owners permission, and interfering with an officer.   If he makes the restitution and performs community service, his record will be wiped clean.
