Teen Due In Court In Fatal Accident

MANCHESTER, Conn. (AP) _ A 19-year-old South Windsor woman faces arraignment on manslaughter charges in a high-speed crash that killed two passengers in her car.

Police say Sara Ballard was on under the influence of drugs or alcohol when the
sport utility vehicle she was driving left Abbe Road in South Windsor while
traveling more than 80 mph and struck a tree on May 25.

Fifteen-year-old Brook Wormstedt of East Windsor and 18-year-old Matthew Masse  of Vernon, were killed in the crash.

Ballard is due in Manchester Superior Court Thursday, charged with manslaughter with a motor vehicle, second-degree, reckless driving, and driving under the influence.
