Final Traffic Adjustments For New “Q” Bridge

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) _ Traffic delays are expected on Interstate 95 in New Haven this weekend as construction crews make the final lane shifts for the new Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge project.

Crews were to begin switching traffic on the southbound side of the highway from the old bridge to the new bridge on Saturday. State Department of Transportation officials say they’re aiming to have all of the I-95 traffic in both directions on the bridge by the morning rush hour on Monday.

Officials last year opened the northbound side of the bridge, which is nicknamed the “Q Bridge.”

Authorities say they’ll have to close some highway lanes and ramps and detour traffic onto city streets to switch the southbound traffic to the new bridge from the old bridge, which will be torn down
