Vandalism At New Haven Mayoral Candidate’s Headquarters
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) _ New Haven police are looking into a report of vandalism at the campaign headquarters of mayoral candidate Toni Harp.
The New Haven Register reports two windows at Harp’s Whalley Avenue office were smashed sometime late Friday or early Saturday.
Campaign manager Jason Bartlett says the vandalism was disconcerting, but did not disrupt the Democrat’s campaign.
He says the windows have been boarded up and workers won’t be able to replace them for about 10 days.
No arrests have been made.
Harp, who has served in the state Senate for 20 years, is one of several candidates running to replace Mayor John DeStefano Jr., who has chosen not to run for re-election.
