UPDATE: Police cancelled the Amber Alert for Azryrah Rhoden shortly before 6:00 p.m., but the Silver Alert for her mother, Sarah Burton, was continued for a while, until she contacted relatives to say she was safe as well. Rhoden is in police custody.
New Haven Police say a mother and her 11-month old daughter were kidnapped at knifepoint in a domestic dispute shortly before 3:00 p.m. Police say the grandmother of the abducted baby called police because her daughter, 26-year-old Sarah Burton and her boyfriend, 33-year-old Rickardo Rhoden were in an argument.
Police say Rhoden took the infant, Azryrah Rhoden and mother at knifepoint and left in his 2002 four-door blue Buick Century, license number 410 ZVD. The baby was wearing a yellow dress.
The trio was last seen near 66 Norton Street in New Haven. Police say they could be headed for Bridgeport.
The grandmother managed to get two other children to safety.
Anyone spotting the vehicle is asked to call 911 immediately. Police say the vehicle should not be approached, as Rhoden may be dangerous.
