Vernon Police Make Bank Robbery Arrest

Vernon police have arrested a New Jersey man in connection with a bank robbery this past spring.

They say 32-year-old Arthur Allyn was picked up in his home state and extradited back to Connecticut on Wednesday.

Allyn is accused in the May 25 holdup of a People’s Bank branch on Talcottville Road.  They say he entered the bank, handed the teller a note and fled with an undetermined amount of cash.

He’s being held on $250,000 bond on robbery, larceny and conspiracy charges.

On another front, Vernon police say they’re continuing to investigate a June 21 robbery at the same branch.  Detectives do not believe the two robberies are connected.

In addition, they say they’ll soon be releasing additional surveilance photos from the latter robbery.

Anyone with any information in that case is asked to call 860-872-9126.
