It’s a mystery, for some unknown reason the “Malloy Supremacy” has it “out” for Connecticut’s hospitals. The historic reduction of funding of $550 million to Connecticut hospitals is unexplainable. The continued explanations don’t ring true, the Supremacy even denies that the reductions have even taken place, it’s like we are living in parallel universes, truth and fiction. But the facts are the facts, the hospitals have been targeted , thousands of Connecticut residents will be losing their jobs and the Supremacy snubs their noses at the biggest employers in our communities. It just doesn’t make sense. To make matters worse the Governor vetoed a bill last week that may sink a merger between Waterbury Hospital and Vanguard Health Systems. This was a bill that the Governor’s office helped negotiate, but then “Big Labor” got involved and the Supremacy folded and vetoed a bill that was the hope and future of Waterbury Hospital. Every week we read of reductions in hospital jobs, services, wage freezes, and the list continues. Open for business ? Not if you are in the health care industry in Connecticut. It’s truly unfortunate to see so many Connecticut families impacted by some juvenile political game.
