The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is forecasting unhealthy air quality for the next few days because of high levels of ground-level ozone pollution. The forecast of “unhealthy for sensitive groups” extends from Thursday through Saturday.
DEEP says the highest levels of ozone are expected across south-central and southeastern coastal areas on Thursday, with the area expanding inland on Friday and Saturday.
The forecast means active children, the elderly, or adults with respiratory disease have an increased likelihood of respiratory symptoms or breathing discomfort.
