Three In Line At Food Pantry Injured By Car

A 76-year-old woman struck three people waiting in line outside a food pantry in Hartford today.

Hartford Police Lieutenant Brian Foley says the three people struck were outside the United Methodist Church mobile Foodshare site, on Farmington Avenue.

“Her foot slipped,” Foley said. “She meant to hit the brake, and she hit the gas.”

The three people waiting in line suffered minor injuries.

The driver is expected to be ticketed for unsafe movement.

Police say the driver was also in the church parking lot for the food distribution effort.

A long line sometimes forms there.
