Police Searching For Inmates Of A Waterbury Halfway House

WATERBURY, Conn. (AP) _ State police say they’re searching for two inmates who escaped from a Waterbury halfway house.

According a police report, Tjayda Jones and Marcos Jimenez were both taken Friday from Chasse Center Halfway House to Waterbury Hospital for a possible drug overdose.

But they say once the men were there, one knocked a nurse to the floor and both fled. Police say a vehicle was waiting to pick up Jones at the hospital.

Police say the 27-year-old Jones was serving time for robbery and assault and is believed to be in the Hartford area. They say the 30-year-old Jimenez, who last lived in Meriden, was in custody on a probation violation.

State police say all local police have been notified and they’re looking for help from anyone who knows where Jones or Jimenez is hiding.
