17 Pounds Of Cocaine Shipped To Bridgeport Home

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) _ Bridgeport police and state troopers say they seized nearly 17 pounds of cocaine that was shipped to a city home from Puerto Rico and arrested two men who received the package.

Authorities say they got a tip from Puerto Rico officials that a large amount of cocaine was going to be delivered to a home on Rose Street and they set up surveillance on Wednesday morning. Police say the two men were arrested shortly after accepting the package from a delivery service worker.

State and local police on the Statewide Narcotics Task Force charged 42-year-old Hector Montilla and 24-year-old Rafael Casasnovas with possession of more than 1 kilogram of cocaine and other drug crimes. They were both detained on $200,000 bail.

It’s not clear if the two men have lawyers.
