Plans To Light Up A Connecticut Landmark

Plans are in the works, to spruce up the Arrigoni Bridge.

Middletown Mayor Daniel Drew says the project could enhance the appearance of the bridge.

“We are exploring right now in conjunction with the town of Portland, the possibility of lighting the bridge with an array of LED’s,” Drew said.  “It would be able to change color, and we believe it would be a major tourism enhancement, and would draw a lot of people into our downtown, particularly as we are just about to start developing our riverfront area,”

Drew says the lighting project could cost several million dollars.

Studies have been done in recent years, and artists renderings have been prepared.
