Lawmakers Look At ‘Lessons’ From Boston Bombing

WASHINGTON (AP) _ Lawmakers are holding hearings in Washington to look at law enforcement and counterterrorism lessons learned from the Boston marathon bombing.

Texas Republican Rep. Michael McCaul, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, said Wednesday his panel wants to “find out how we did not see it coming … what went wrong, and how to fix it.”

On the other side of Capitol Hill, the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs planned to look at how well Boston was prepared for a terrorist threat.

The arraignment of bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is also scheduled for Wednesday in federal court in Boston. He is charged with using a weapon of mass destruction in the bombings that killed three and wounded more than 260.
