Between the Independence Day holiday and the recent hot weather, Connecticut blood drive donations are down.  CEO of Connecticut Blood Services Paul Sullivan says that while the supply may be down —  demand is not;  each day, the Red Cross needs about 600 blood donations to meet the needs of Connecticut hospitals.

Sullivan says donations were down about  10% in June,  across the country.

To find a blood drive,   call 1-800-RED CROSS,  or go to RedCrossBlood.org.
