Police: Three New Haven Shootings Related

New Haven police say three shootings Wednesday are related.  Two of the victims were killed and one injured.  Police Chief Dean Esserman says police are working around the clock to insure a safe holiday weekend for city residents and visitors,  but said he wanted to reassure people that the victims are connected and that the shootings were not random.  Police say they are getting good cooperation from the public in their investigation.

The body of 19-year-old Errol Marshal of New Haven was found on the front porch of 295 Division Street late Wednesday night, about the same time that 25-year-old Courtney Jackson of New Haven was found with a gunshot wound to the abdomen about a block away. is hospitalized in stable condition.

Those shootings came about ten hours after 23-year-old Brian Gibson of New Haven was found shot in the McConaughy Terrace housing complex.  He later died of his wounds.
