Parts Of State Wring Out From Flash Flooding

Flash flood watches and warnings remain in effect today.

Litchfield County took the brunt of the heavy rain Sunday and that could be the  case again today.

In Sharon, where five inches of rain fell on Sunday, streets were damaged when streams overran their banks.

Town emergency management director Tom Bartram says they can’t handle any more rain.

He says the stream levels were already high from all of the rain received last month.

Bartram says crews have been at work repairing the streets that were damaged.

He also says a number of homes sustained basement flooding and the shopping center in the middle of town was flooded but the water has receded for now.
